We are Ashley (26) and Thomas (31), proud parents of our son Ace and the team behind The GEL Expert.
Our story
Ashley's love for nails began at a young age. While studying Tax Law, she started doing nails at home. Nail styling had always been her passion, but her studies took priority at the time.
In 2021, everything changed when our son Ace was born far too early at just 26 weeks and weighing 850 grams. What followed was an intense period of five months at the Erasmus MC, filled with operations and uncertainty. The hospital even made a documentary about this extraordinary time: “Hands on the Incubator.”
Due to caring for Ace, who needed extra attention, Ashley had to stop her studies. Fortunately, he is now doing incredibly well and is almost ready to start primary school – a milestone we are incredibly grateful for.
Entrepreneurship with Passion
Thomas opened his first ice cream parlor at the age of 18. What started as a small business grew into multiple branches in the Haaglanden region. Everything is prepared with love and craftsmanship – artisanal ice cream of the highest quality, which we now also supply to other ice cream parlors throughout the Netherlands.
Since Ace's birth, Ashley has also been working in the company. This way, we could combine work and family life well. But her passion for nail styling kept nagging at her…
The start of The GEL Expert
With her creativity and eye for detail, Ashley decided to pursue her dream once again. This led to the creation of The GEL Expert, a brand born from a love for beauty, quality, and perfection.
For over a year, we worked together to develop The Gel Expert. We tested countless formulas and designs until we found the perfect result: a product with the highest quality, a luxurious appearance, and a fair price.
What we stand for
The GEL Expert is more than just a brand; it's a reflection of our journey, our perseverance, and our love for craftsmanship.
